1/11

A refurbishment of a six storey Grade II Georgian townhouse in Belgravia with extensive remodelling to the south facing rear elevation and garden.

Attention was given to maximise light into the kitchen and ancillary areas on the ground floor, which are deep in plan and previously dark. A series of lightwells, skylights and voids are used to achieve this.

An existing lift at the centre of the plan relieved the reliance on stairs, but undermined the previous internal floor layouts. Both lift and shaft were reconfigured and extended to better serve each floor, including a new bedroom, terrace and basement level.
